Assimilation in American History
If the quote "Make America Great Again!" sounds familiar its from our ever so "lovely" 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump but of course almost everyone knows that. The thing is has America ever been that great? Not counting its golden age but rather the not so smart decisions from previous presidents. America's history of Forced Assimilation doesn't help either, especially when the Indian Removal was placed by Andrew Jackson to remove the "Indians" from their land which lead to the Trail of Tears. Not to mention the residential schools placed by Military General Richard Henry Pratt with the quote "Kill the Indian, Save the Man". These residential schools would take Native children away from their parents and make them more "civilized", as if their actions weren't disappointing enough.
